I believe that snapping photos of your family is really only half of my job! In order to craft your best-fit experience, I make it a priority to first learn about your family dynamics, as well as your end goal for your portraits. After your session is officially booked, I'll send you a comprehensive Session Prep Guide to help you know exactly what to expect for our time together and how to set everyone up for success--including wardrobe ideas, kid prep tips, and lots of heirloom display inspiration. 

I want to help you envision your end products from day 1, because I so strongly believe in the importance of displaying photos of our kids and families throughout our spaces. It's not only impactful to us as parents, but just as impactful to our kids to physically see these images every single day. To see your love for them in one more tangible way.

I also know how overwhelming it can be to receive a gallery of 50+ digital images and no direction or guidance on what the heck to do with them! The options are endless, and it's so easy to just forget about all those pretty photos a few weeks after downloading them. I’d love to help you come up with a plan for preserving and enjoying your photos right off the bat, so that it’s one less thing you have to worry about. Better yet - allow me to take care of it FOR you!

My hope for your family session is ultimately for you and your kids to feel at ease and free to be yourselves!

If you have young kids, expect lots of candid shots with movement and snuggles. I will guide and loosely pose you throughout the session, but I never want you to feel stiff and formal! I won't be asking you to sit still and look at the camera much - that’s not my primary goal. You’re going to sit and look at your babies, your family. You are going to get images that exude love. Your children are going to look at these and clearly see how loved they are. And I hope these images also help YOU see yourself the way your kids see you! We will always fit in several smile-at-the-camera shots as well, more or less depending on the ages of your kids. ;)

If traditional posed family sessions are not your favorite (or your kids would rather get teeth pulled than dress up and stand still for even a moment), these extra laidback, documentary-style sessions are perfect for capturing the happiest of faces. These sessions are my personal favorite, to be honest. I simply tag along with my camera to your family outing or event, and snag THE SWEETEST photos of your kids being kids! No forced smiles necessary, because they can't help but smile naturally. 

I’ve got your back with wardrobe planning, too! When you choose your session date, you’ll get immediate access to my online styling service. You’ll answer a short questionnaire about who is in the session, the general style you’re looking for and the color schemes you like, and the service will choose photographer-approved outfits for you to compare side-by-side. Here’s an example of four outfits I picked out based on recommendations for a family of four in a brown/ivory + blue/orange color scheme (I chose “romantic boho” as my vibe):

Within a few days of your session, I will send you a proofing gallery to view! This will be in slideshow form initially, and will contain your complete gallery of images (for most sessions, you can expect 50-60 images to choose from). The slideshow will be available for 48 hours, starting when you click the link. During that 48 hours you'll have the opportunity to upgrade your collection, if you decide you need them all! I'll fully retouch the images you choose to keep, then send them to you in a high resolution downloadable gallery soon after.

Along with your downloadable gallery, you'll also receive access to your online shop filled with gorgeous one-of-a-kind photo heirlooms available for ordering. I'll never pressure you to purchase products, but I hope you take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy tangible art created FOR you with your most loved images. It is truly priceless!

Your session will include 20 digital images that you will select from a proofing gallery soon after your session day. You'll have the option to upgrade your gallery to include additional images as well as heirloom product credit, if desired! Sample heirloom products will be available to touch and feel immediately following your session.

ALL family sessions include your access code to my online wardrobe styling service as well as my client closet, my comprehensive session prep guide, customized session planning, and a full-length sunset session.
