I just love this family! They exude so much love and joy (and patience, haha). We originally planned to just get some family photos taken outside at Horticulture Park, but baby Ben was not feeling it that evening! So we met up again for an in-home newborn session a few days later when he was feeling more like himself. It might be safe to say that big sis Phoebe stole the show at both locations, but that’s what hilarious two-year-olds do best!

At their in-home newborn session, Phoebe was so excited to show me around! We started with some family shots and–my favorite–super sweet shots of big sis snuggling her little brother. Insert allllll the heart eyes.

I’m so thankful the Herchenroeders invited me into their lives for a few moments to help them document these memories. I love how whenever littles are involved we’re reminded that we only have so much control, and I think that’s a beautiful thing! To be able look back on photos like these of the way REAL life felt with a newborn and two-year old (even though you only got about two solid family shots that grandma would frame) is a gift I hope families are always able to cherish.
